Something similar happened to my family. My Father, who lived in a rest home, had fallen. Although he was fine and told the attendants so, it is protocol the resident has to go to the hospital to make sure. Once he got there, he had to submit to a covid test, although he had no symptoms. At 93 he was healthy as far as the family could tell. Walked everywhere using a walker.
Once he was admitted, the hospital wouldn’t release him. Nor let anyone in to see him. We were able to talk by phone a couple of times. All he said was, “Get me out of here.”
This was early in the pandemic. From what my sister told me, as she was in contact more than me, he started refusing to eat, or drink. He thought they were never going to release him. The only way she got him out was to put him on hospice in her home. So he was in the hospital, I think nine days. When she got him to her home, he lasted three days before he died.
